passed away on Sunday June 24, 2012 at Vista Continuing Care in Pasadena, Texas at the age of 95 years and 11 months. She was born Ruth Easter Kressley to Oscar and Nora Kressley in Allentown, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1916. On Feb. 24, 1936, she married Vernon Price, a preacher, and they had 3 children. She married Jack Cooper on Aug.25, 1950. Ruth's favorite things in life were God's word, playing and singing hymns,cooking, gardening, and her grandkids. Survivors include Daughter Verna Phillips of Pasadena; son and daughter-in-law Louis and June Price of Houston; one brother John Kressley;one sister, Mary Reed;4 grandchildren, Sheree Chism of Katy, Diana Miller of Richmond, Randy Price of Wallis and Brian Ray Phillips of Alaska;3 great grandchildren, Sarah, and Stuart Miller and Samantha Price. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Cooper, one sister Helen Lavier, and brothers Claude, Paul, and Jimmy Kressley. Visitation will be held Wednesday June 27, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm at the Central Assembly of God Church in Pasadena, Tx. Funeral Service will be held Thursday June 28, 2012 at 9am at Central Assembly of God Church Pasadena, Tx with burial to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
