I am very sad to hear of the passing of my old friend Sam. I have Golden memories of him when we were in High School at Middletown. We played so much music together in marching band, orchestra, jazz band, Sounds Of America, as well as many other musical projects outside of school. He was alway a joyful guy and always wanted to be where the fun and where the music was. Our friendship has extended well into our adult lives as musicians and friends. God bless and peace to his family and friends. He will be missed. Chuck Evans

I have fond memories of Sam playing opposite my character in a MHS production of "Fiddler on the Roof". In his best solo voice Sam sings "if I were a rich man..." You were a very rich man, Sammy! Married for 40 years, had 3 children, and 4 grandchildren, all living close by..... "If that's not love, what is?"
Sincere sympathies to Marsha and family.

I have only the fondest memories and highest regard for Sam....Playing knothole baseball together, his mother drove us every day during a time when my father was ill..He and I played trombone in the Roosevelt JHS orchestra under Valda Wilkerson. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

Our sympathy and prayers to Marsha and her family. What a loss for the community and for Middie Music Boosters. Sam's tireless hours of volunteering brought smiles to many faces. May the support of family, friends and the community help you in this difficult time.
