Sandra VanderKamp Obituary
She will be remembered for her love of dogs, gardening, photography and animals. Sandra was a dog groomer for 30 years. She will be missed by her family and especially her husband David VanderKamp. Sandra attended Harlem Reformed Church.
Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Long. She is survived by her husband, David VanderKamp; by her step-daughters, Wendy and Greg Haverdink, Julie and Brian Schans; and 8 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda and Thom Samuelson, Wendy and Dave Mcleod, Deb and John Burgers, Bruce Coryell, Ron Long and nieces and nephews; by her in-laws, Mitzi VanderKamp, Cal and Patti VanderKamp, Diane and Curt Dykema, Brian and Deb VanderKamp, Joy and Kevin Katt, and Amy VanderKamp.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Harlem Reformed Church, 6854 144th Avenue, Holland, Michigan 49424. A light lunch and time of fellowship will follow from 12-2pm. Rev. John Nyitray will be presiding. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland, Michigan 49424.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland. Please visit www.lakeshorememorial.com to leave a message or memory for the family.

David and family, Sandi will be missed for more than her expert dog grooming (which it was unsurpassed by anyone) but by her smiles, her personality, her love of life and just the beauty of what was Sandi. It's hard to understand why people are taken from us, but find peace and comfort in knowing you were a special part of a well-lived life. You are in our thoughts, our hearts, and our prayers.

David and Family - My heart aches and it's hard to find words to comfort you but just knowing that Sandi is in a better place and pain free will help you through this tough time. The pain of loss never goes away but eases with time. It was so good visiting and talking to you guys on Saturday and I know that Sandi was at peace and ready for the pain to be over. Our love and prayers are with you. Rest in peace my dear friend. I will miss you so much.

I am so sorry to read about Sandi. She was a wonderful and faithful volunteer for our Furry Friends Pet Food Pantry. All of the families who used the pantry loved Sandi as did all the other volunteers who worked with her. We will keep her family in our thoughts and prayers.

Sandi will be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with her husband and family. I met Sandi over 20 years ago when she started grooming my dogs. We would sit and chat for a long time when she finished them. We talked about our flowers and she gave me some of her favorite flowers and grasses. They are growing and I will always remember her when I look at them. I will miss you Sandi!
