Scott Pine Obituary

Pine, Scott , 34, Orange County Deputy Sheriff was born on July 12, 1979 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Scott graduated from Airline High School in 1997. While attending Louisiana Tech University he met his soul-mate Bridget Roseboom. A short time later they moved to Central Florida. The couple soon married and God blessed them with three beautiful children. After many years in the finance business Scott, a man of deep faith, felt a calling to serve as an Orange County Sheriff's Deputy. He joined the Sheriff's Office in May of 2011. The family settled in to his new profession while Scott worked the mid-night shift protecting and serving. When not at work he was often seen playing in the park with his children or teaching Haley how to ride her bike without training wheels. Scott loved to travel and camp with his family. Scott enjoyed wrestling, playing games, reading books, and saying nightly prayers when he was home with his family. He was an avid LSU fan. Scott was dedicated to God, his family, friends, co-workers and the citizens of Orange County. He worked hard and understood service, epitomizing what was written on his patrol vehicle, "Making A Difference". On February 11, 2014 while Deputy Pine was handling an emergency call for service he was killed in the line of duty. He served his community with honor and dignity. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bridget Pine, his precious children, Haley, Ryker and Maddox Pine; mother, Donna Robinson (Jimmy) of Bossier City, LA; father, Robert Pine (Terry) of Oklahoma; and many other family members, coworkers and friends. A Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 12:15 - 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Orlando, 3000 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32805. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with interment immediately following at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. Well written obituary. Scott was a humble, kind, and brave man that I admire. He demonstrated and lived out Jesus' command to "Love God...Love others". I am grieving his loss along side others that are heartbroken over this tragedy. However, I do rejoice in knowing that one day I will rejoin my brother and friend in which all who trust Christ (as Scott did) will not be separated by time or distance for all joyous eternity. What a promise! We will probably get together and play an amazing pick-up game of ultimate frisbee.

I pray for comfort, rest and peace over family, friends, and acquaintances that knew Scott. I will surely miss him.

As a member of the law enforcement family I want to tell a hero's family that we are so very proud of the exemplary man that your son, father and husband was. I am also sorry he had to give the ultimate sacrifice. I only wish we could have had the honor of having him serve a long, long time. Our prayers are with you for comfort.
