With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Shirley Mae Taylor, born on April 19, 1950 to the late Mildred and George Williams, who departed this world on May 5, 2025, at the age of 75. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who touched the lives of all she met with her warmth and kindness.
Shirley is survived by her devoted husband, Hardy Taylor, who stood by her side with unwavering love. She leaves behind her beloved daughters Tywanda Allen, Donyel Bacon (Gary), Nikki Taylor, Jeneen Taylor, Mia Taylor, and Tara Taylor. As a grandmother, Shirley's heart swelled with pride for her 13 grandchildren: Kevin Johnson, Kevin Gaskins, Skylar Johnson, Tracy Taft, Christian Lomax, Jadian Lomax, Gary Bacon, Austin Hailey, Carter Bacon, Aaron Hailey, Alyssa Hailey, Taylor Valentine, and Melaina Valentine. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Kailynn Gaskins and Kelsey Gaskins. Shirley was preceded in death by granddaughter Alanna Hailey.
In addition to her immediate family, Shirley is survived by her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and their families.
Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her artistic talents, particularly in arts and crafts. She enjoyed cruising and brought joy to her family by celebrating Christmas and other festive holidays with boundless enthusiasm. She also enjoyed working as a CNA for many years. Her spirit and creativity will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know her.
In honor of Shirley's life and legacy, a public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road 21222, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Avenue 21224.
May she rest in peace, embraced by love and surrounded by the memories of a life well-lived.
