Dear Julie and Michael,
I am so sorry to learn of your fathers passing. He was a great humanitarian,I met your father when he worked in the west broadway housing development also known as the D St project he helped a lot of kids get funding to get into college, or to help them any way that he could my mother and your father became good friends when he did his walks thru the projects stoping to talk to the tenants or the teens playing basketball. I use to talk to you dad at least once a week when he called Boston university s undergraduate admissions office back in the late 70s early 80 s after reading his book I felt honored, and privileged to have known your father, and saddened to learn that the world has lost a great man

I met Mr. Ross a few times. He was a remarkable human being in every sense of the word. My son and I once went to one of his lectures at my Temple. My biggest take away from this wise man was that it is great to help animals and the environment but you take care of the people first. Rest in peace

Dear Julie and Michael,
We were very saddened to read of Steve's death. We have happy memories of living next-door to him in Newton in the early 80s. He was a terrific neighbor and friend. Although we lost touch after we moved away, I was so glad I made it to his book signing at the Athenaeum a couple years ago, and was able to see him, and both of you. I am certain he was very proud of you both, and I bet he loved being a grandfather.
With deep sympathy,
Kathy and Greg Reiff

Dear Mike,
I never had the honor of meeting your father, but know well the depth of his contribution to history and humanity. His passing is a loss to all humankind. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
