Steve was a wonderful guy whos laugh will always be remembered. His work with kids is memorable for the impact he had one each and every child he had the honor to teach. Rest In Peace and guide us towards our better selves now as you did in the recent past.

Stevie, I'm remembering a nephew who was an outgoing, mischievous, loving, redhead, with twinkling eyes, happy, laughing, large bodied little boy of five years. Really nothing changed about him thru time except his laugh grew louder, his shoulders broadened, a mustache appeared, a loud voice became deeper. He was still a big hugger, a joker, a constant student, a hard worker, had a happy exterior camouflaging his inner heart, always searching for a place in the sun and he loved accolades. We will miss him enormously! He buried his grandparents, beloved niece, brother, father, mother uncles and aunt, to become the last of the Nowak-Kozlowski family. A good giant has indeed left out world!

Koz was our lunch companion and teaching colleague at Conejo Valley high School. He always brought interesting contributions and it was always fun to talk football with him and see who could guess more games correctly. He is missed. He died way too young and suddenly. RIP, Koz!

Steve,
It meant a lot to me to see you before you passed; you were so brave and the fact that you were watching some survival wilderness thing on National Geographic when I came to see you was quite apropos -- you were a rugged individualist. You were also, though, gentle and kind and always so very helpful when I needed some wood cut for the garden or some hole drilled in a pot...or even just a good laugh (and a hearty one you had). Ty came with me the next day to visit you again but you were already above us, and I would imagine smiling down on us ... your old buddies (Tyler older than I, of course:) Something else that stands out to me about you was whenever there was a collection you always went out of your way to donate bags and bags of goods! I know you're at peace now and with your mom whom you loved so dearly. Thank you for all the fond memories. CVHS will not be the same without you!

Stevie- My cousin.....Yes, you will always be "Stevie" to me. I so wanted you to come here in November but you couldn't make it because you were ill. I will always remember our fun times together, our competition on who was taller and who was older, and who was smarter. You were too young to leave here. Rest in peace Cous. Ginny

My goodness, we had a history. Introduced by OMBAC, then so fortunate when you joined our staff at SDSU while completing your degree and credential. And then there was the kidney thing. I still remember waking up after surgery to the doctors telling us how well everything went and how happy we were. I'll miss you at Sign-Ups, at OTL, and all the other days when we got a chance to visit and catch up. You were a good man and a good friend and deserved many more good years on this earth. Safe journey, my friend.

Your were a wonderful friend, a great teacher and a wonderful human being. I loved your sarcasm and your everlasting hope of winning the lottery. Your devotion to your students will always be remembered. Rest well my friend. Keep a place nearby full of joy and happiness when we all someday join you in the great woodshop in the sky. You are missed and always will be.

Steve,
Thank you for your collegiality the last 12 years. You were so thoughtful, always giving boxes of wood scraps for my fireplace. You made outdoor school name placards for years, speaker mounts for my patio, and even helped with a box car project for my daughter. Your students all benefited from your giving nature and now have learned skills for a lifetime. Thank you for your interest in the weather as well, we had many "forecast" discussions over the years. Your presence is sorely missed by the students and staff here at Colina.

Steve,
Your class was the light for many students who struggled in the dark. You gave students pride in accomplishing a task. This was your gift and it will be missed! I'm sure you'll start a woodworking class in heaven. We miss you!
