Dr. Steven H. Goldman

1948 - 2021

Dr. Steven H. Goldman, beloved Husband and best friend for over 50 years of Maddy Goldman, nee Swirsky; devoted and always supportive Father of Lisa Goldman; loving son of the late Alfred and Yetta Goldman; caring "son" of the late Mary Swirsky – he was truly their "Life Manager." Family meant the world to Steven and he was adored by special friends who he considered to be his family. He came to Chicagoland from New York after meeting his "Beshert" (soulmate), Maddy, at Queens College. A psychologist for the majority of his adult life, Steven was dedicated to the improvement of the educational system and providing career counseling, analytical testing and support to clients, friends, and acquaintances. He was insightful, trustworthy, and value-driven, greatly appreciated by those he mentored and highly respected by his colleagues. Steven was an exceptional man, intelligent, always respectful, compassionate of others, and glad to help anyone in need. He touched many people from all walks of life. Steven was a great leader and extremely involved in all types of Jewish and educational organizations. He gave tremendous joy to all who came in contact with him with his non-judgmental, kind, and supportive nature. No matter what was happening, spending any time with Steven was a pleasure and he always had a wonderful and sharp sense of humor. He was a "cool" guy all around and so many people considered him to be "one of their favorite people ever." As an only child of two Holocaust survivors, Steven was extremely courageous, overcoming so many health challenges, and never giving up and never giving less than 100%. Steven will be greatly missed by all. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 25th at 1:00 pm at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL.
