Steven Scott Sterling

STEVEN SCOTT STERLING, 47, of Hemet, California, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016, at a hospital in Riverside, California. He was born on Friday, March 28, 1969, He was the son of Barbara Draper and Lawrence Sterling. He was married to the love of his life, Katherine "Hammann" Sterling for over 26 years. Steven was born and raised in Arkansas where he spent many hours hunting and fishing. When he was younger, he worked for his grandfather who raised thoroughbred race horses where he gained a good work ethic and a great love of nature. Steven was very involved with his kids activities, Sara with sports and Richard with competitive motorcycle racing. Steven had been employed by the City of Temecula for over 20 years before retirement. He was quite the cook and his smoked tri-tip was his specialty. The family described him as having a good sense of humor, and a charmer. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Surviving is his wife Katherine "Hammann" Sterling; son Richard Sterling, wife Bronwen and granddaughter Braelynn; daughter Sara Sterling and brother Larry Sterling. A Memorial Service will be on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 at 4:00pm at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 1501 W. Florida Ave., Hemet, Ca 92543 followed by a reception in The Ramona Room. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Ramona Humane Society.
