Susie Horton Obituary

HORTON, SUSIE PETTY - age 90, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, February 20, 2006, at St. Martin's In The Pines Nursing Home in Birmingham, AL. Susie was affectionately called "Mama Sue" by her family and friends. She was a teacher as well as a homemaker and was very active in her husband's ministry. Survivors include: husband of 67 years, Dr. James Franklin Horton; daughter and son-in-law, Petty Sue and Bill Thomas of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Ann Lee Tucker of Chattanooga, TN; son and daughter-in-law, David Franklin and Marcia Horton of Rahway, NJ; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Sally Satterly and Georgie Thornbury. Family and friends will meet Friday, February 24, 2006, at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service with brother-in-law, John Horton officiating. Pallbearers will be: Charles Tucker, III, Timothy Tucker, Eric Thomas, Greg King, Chris Stratton, and Madison McCalmon. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in Honor of Susie Horton to St. Martin's In The Pines Nursing Home, 4949 Montevallo Road, Birmingham, AL 35210.
