Thomas Harbour Obituary

Thomas Judson Harbour
1991-2018
Our beloved son, Thomas Judson Harbour passed away suddenly on Monday, November 5, 2018 in Austin, TX. Just three weeks shy of his 27th birthday.
He was born December 1, 1991 to Kay and Robert Harbour in Houston, TX.
Growing up in Houston, Thomas attended St. Thomas More School from 1st through 8th grade, then St. Thomas High School, graduating in 2010. He was accepted into the biomedical engineering program at Texas A&M University, but while there, he discovered a deep passion for the arts and literature. He transferred to the University of St. Thomas in Houston, then later to the writing program at the University of Houston.
Thomas was a gifted athlete. Beginning with Little League, he enjoyed a variety of sports through high school however, his favorite sport was skate boarding. He skated practically every day of his life since he learned how, and worked on his jumps and tricks all the time.
Thomas loved animals. He always had cats and dogs in the house growing up. While attending college he got a job as a pet adoption advocate with Rescue Pets Movement in Houston, then later with Austin Pets Alive in Austin.
Thomas began painting, oil paint on canvas, at first as a way to cope with stress. He discovered he had a natural talent for abstract expressionism, and for the last few years of his life he was very prolific. Many of his paintings are enjoyed by and displayed in the homes of his friends and family.
Thomas is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. V. J. Donnely and Amelia, and his paternal grandparents, Robert Harbour Sr. and Monica Ash and his aunt, Katrina Harbour. He is survived by his parents, and his sister Christine Harbour of Austin Texas. Also his Aunt Julie Reid in Anchorage Alaska, uncle Chris Harbour, also in Anchorage, Aunt Jennifer Hakes and husband Joel of Beaver Falls Pennsylvania, uncles and aunts Joanne and John Carter of Houston and Pat and Bob Kirkland of League City, as well as numerous cousins and friends. Thomas' star shone very brightly in his short life. He was a kind soul and a good friend, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm, with a Rosary beginning at 7pm, Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet St., Bellaire, TX 77401.
