Thomas Edward Lyles, Sr. "Pap", 84, of Huntsville, Texas, passed away January 12, 2017. He was born to Thomas and Thelma Lyles in Houston, Texas on March 11, 1932. He was married to Dorothy A. Lyles for 63 years. Thomas was a life-long Texan, served in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War, and spent most of his life in the heating and air conditioning business working on residential units all the way to high-rise buildings, hospitals and schools. He took great pride in his work and was utilized as a consultant on many jobs because of his expertise. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, serving in the Boy Scouts Troop 147 and cooking BBQ. He loved his church family and participated actively in Pasadena Boulevard and Golden Acres United Methodist churches. He took great pride in his family and they could never visit him enough! Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas (Buck) Lyles and Thelma Antwright Lyles Rogers; step-mother, Ruby Larsen Lyles; brothers, Jimmy Rogers and Pete Larsen; sister, Bobbie Hanson; and grandson Ryan Dewan. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Lyles; sons, Thomas E. Lyles Jr. and wife Debbie, and Rahul N. Dewan and wife Susan; daughter, Anna Pace and husband Dee; grandchildren, Amy Lyles Toland and husband J, Katy Marie Lyles, Nathan Hale Lyles, Marty Pace and wife Tiffany, Jeremy Pace and wife Melissa, Tiffany Stewart and husband Kevin, Rex Dewan, and Nathan Dewan; great-grandchildren, Brody Toland, Zoey Toland, Evhon Pace, Madolynn Pace, Morgan Pace, Drake Stewart, Christopher Pace, Bryan Pace, and Memory Pace. The family received friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598. Funeral Services were celebrated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hope Community United Methodist Church (formerly Golden Acres), 2838 Lily St., Pasadena, TX 77053.
