Todd Wallace Obituary

Todd Mathews Wallace
03/27/1972 - 07/27/2025
Todd Mathews Wallace joined his Heavenly Father on July 27, 2025, surrounded and held by his beloved family.
Throughout all seasons of his life, Todd had the utmost respect for his roles as husband, father, son, brother, uncle, partner and friend. He was kind, selfless and effusively loving. While his time on earth flickered out too soon after a valiant six-year fight with cancer, he packed those years with an abundance of life, love and laughter.
Todd was born in Houston, Texas on March 27, 1972, to John Wilkins Wallace and Alexandra "Ecky" Wallace Malick. He attended River Oaks Baptist, Awty International, and graduated from Lamar High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After college, he met the love of his life, Laura Stoke-forever known as his "Sunshine." They were blessed with three beautiful children, Elizabeth "Elle," Mathews and Caroline. Todd cherished his role as father and was incredibly proud of his children. He especially enjoyed watching movies, swapping music recommendations and engaging in deep conversations with Elle. He treasured his time hunting, fanatically watching football and playing rounds of golf with Mathews. He delighted in Caroline's dance performances, head massages and happily laughed at her many jokes. Todd spelled love T-I-M-E, and his time with Sunshine and their family was most important to him.
Todd was once compared to a vibrant star shooting through the sky. He infused every environment with a unique brightness and intense joy. Todd actively sought and created fellowship, warmly welcoming so many into his orbit. He believed that experiences with family and friends were the ultimate luxury, and often made them happen through hunting trips, numerous rounds of golf, ranch rides and cookouts and many, many vacations. A dedicated Longhorns fan with a license plate that read "LGHORN," Todd attended every UT football game he could, his suite always filled to capacity with loved ones. In 2019, Todd acquired his beloved Medway Ranch for the sole purpose of gathering family and friends to enjoy God's bountiful nature. Outfitted in his cowboy hat and monogrammed belt buckle and boots, Todd closed every ranch sunset with evening cocktail cruises in his beloved custom-built safari trucks, Uno Mas and Dos Mas, and always invited everyone along for the ride.
Todd's enthusiasm and unflagging devotion extended to every area of his life, including the way he ran his businesses. After college, Todd worked with Knight Real Estate and immersed himself in learning commercial real estate and development. He later joined The Weitzman Group and then SRS Real Estate Partners, furthering his knowledge and expertise in the industry. As a key milestone in Todd's career, he founded his company CSW Development in 2004 and, along with his best friend and partner Robert O'Farrell, built it into the thriving company it is today-known for its success, integrity and keen professionalism. CSW is renowned for developing over $1.2 billion in assets throughout Texas and for its consistent returns to their investors.
Todd was also honored to be named President of the Central Texas Region for JLL and was responsible for the growth and success of the Austin and San Antonio offices. Within ten years, he grew his team from under twenty to over 150 members. Under Todd's leadership, the office was named one of the Best Places to Work in Austin in addition to receiving numerous other accolades over the years. Todd was highly respected as a leader and mentor in his industry-not just for his vast knowledge, widespread experience and laser-focused drive, but for his personal magnetism, unparalleled integrity and endless positivity. He was a recipient of JLL's Champion of Excellence award-not only the company's highest honor, but one that seemed custom designed with Todd in mind with its focus on integrity, collaboration, exceptional results and making a meaningful impact. Todd also served on the esteemed Broker Leadership Council for the company.
Todd was an active participant in various other communities, as well. He was a member of Dell Children's Foundation Board of Trustees, National Western Life Insurance Board of Directors, the University of Texas Chancellor's Council Executive Committee (CCEC), Young President's Organization (YPO), ACRES (Austin Commercial Real Estate Society), The Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA), and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Todd was also a generous supporter of the Longhorn Foundation, Goodwill Central Texas, Dell Children's Foundation, Explore Austin and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Additionally, Todd was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Bachelors of Austin, Admirals Club of Austin, Austin Country Club and Westwood Country Club.
Beyond Todd's countless earthly accomplishments and successes, his greatest legacy is his unashamed and bold love for his savior Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16). Todd rejoiced in being able to bring people to know and love God. To know Todd was to love him, and those who knew him never walked away the same. Todd's legacy of faith, family and love will live on forever through all who loved him.

Todd is survived by his wife Laura Stoke Wallace; daughter Elizabeth Hatton Wallace; son Todd Mathews Wallace Jr.; daughter Caroline Alexandra Wallace; parents John and Cynthia Wallace; parents Ecky and Terrence Malick; parents-in-law Gail and Stan Stoke; brother Will Wallace and wife Sara; sisters Laura Schuhmacher Covington and husband Kelly; Meghan Wallace Bailey; Alexandra Wallace Currie; Shepherd Homan and husband Chris; brother-in-law Chris Stoke and wife Dana; aunts and uncles, five nieces and thirteen nephews and one great nephew; a host of cousins; his dogs Dixon, Wilson and Jojo.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jerry Fain and Dr. Jason Westin for their devotion and excellent medical care over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 7th at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church located at 3201 Windsor Road, Austin, Texas 78703.
