Troy McConnell was born on January 3rd, 1920 to James and Emily McConnell.
He went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2011.

In 1942 he married Bessie Thurman in DeQueen, Arkansas. They moved to California in 1943 and he went to work in the shipyards. After work he would go into the Forman's shack where he taught himself to read blueprints. He later became a ship fitter over a crew of men, a real achievement for a man with very little formal education.

After the war he worked in the lumber industry. His last job was with Arcata Plywood where he worked for 25 years. He was very proud of the fact that he built or remodeled most of their 8 houses and never had a mortgage. He always was a hard worker and loved to cut firewood and work in his garden.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters, also his grandson Thomas McConnell and his son in law Steve Haggard.

Troy leaves be hind his wife of 69 years Bessie McConnell, his son James McConnell and wife Hilde, his daughter Annette Haines and husband Rich. His granddaughters Cindy, Shellie and Stephanie, 6 great grandchildren and his dear friends Travis and Kim and Tommy.

Troy was an Honest Bible Believing Christian man and we know he is in the home promised to all believers.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 12, at 1:30 p.m.
at the House of Prayer, 4650 Shasta Dam Blvd.
