Vaughn Wilson Obituary

Vaughn Howard Wilson, 93, of Brunswick, Ga., departed this life Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in her residence. She was born July 25, 1931, in Washington, to the late George Edward and Opal Rhoades Howard. Vaughn was a former co-owner of Howards Grocery in Waynesburg. She had been a resident of Glynn County, Ga. for the past 20 years and was a member of Emanuel Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. A devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and aunt, Mrs. Wilson enjoyed reading, knitting, watching tennis, and keeping in touch with family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack Ray Wilson; a son, Jack M. Wilson; three sisters, Lida Howard Marks, Sue Howard Morris, Lois Jean Howard; and a brother, George Edward Howard. Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca W. Smitley of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sons, Eric R. Wilson of Brunswick, and Seth H. Wilson (Sandy) of Waynesburg; along with four grandsons, Aaron J. Huntey, Derek D. Huntey (Holly), Adam G. Smitley (Amanda), all of Myrtle Beach, Zachary S. Wilson (Samantha) of Waynesburg; a stepgranddaughter, Dr. Julie Bulboff (John) of Coal Center; four great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister, Lucinda Howard Hoy (Denny) of Aztec, N.M.
