Barbara - I met Walt when I joined IBM as a part-time student employee in the late 80s. He was so friendly and helpful and treated me, as he did everyone, with respect. To me, he was the epitome of an IBMer. I am grateful to have known such a great person and my heart goes out to you and your family. I know you must have many fond memories and hope you will find comfort in remembering the good times in your life together.

Barbara,

my condolences to you and your family. I knew Walt from IBM El Paso from mid-eighties... and he was truly a joyful spirit... (i believe you were at Sun Travel during those years). Dear Barbara, I worked with Walt when I joined IBM in El Paso in 1984 until I moved to the Dallas area in 1992. He was a very special man. I can still envision his easy smile and recall his good heart and caring manner. I never had the pleasure of meeting you, Barbara, but I would like to extend my heartfelt sadness of the loss of your loving husband. God bless you and your family during this difficult time. Walt's memory will always remain with those of us who knew him.

Barbara, Danna and I are so very sorry to hear of Walt's passing. We were always so fond of him and you as a couple and we shared many fun times together when we were members of St. Francis on the Hill. I particularly was touched that you and he took the time to come and honor Dad and our family at his memorial service this past February. May God bless you and your family during this difficult time.

Fondly, Mike and Danna McCleskey

Walt was a fantastic man. Everyone adored him because he made you feel so good in his presence. He always made me feel comfortable and made me laugh.

He was very proud of his family and such a good example of a father.

I feel honored to have known him and I will always have fond memories.

Barb and family, I know how much you will miss him, but what a gift he was to all of us.

Whenever Walt entered he did "light up the room" and our lives.
