Dodge City, Kansas - Werner Carl Teufel (aka Butch and Coach) passed away on Wed, Dec 7, 2022. He was born to Hugo and Gretchen (Kolk) Teufel in Wichita, KS on Dec 30, 1938, moving to Dodge City, KS in 1966. Survivors include his wife, Karen, daughter, Shannon (Kris) Meis, grandchildren, Lauren (Nathan) Cox, and Logan Meis (Sopaneda Choun), great-grandchildren Cambri and Creed Cox, nephews Hugo (Maritza) Teufe, and Kevin (Shannan) Kimble. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Hugo. A visitation for Butch will be held Mon, Dec 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Lakeview, with a funeral at 2:00 PM.

Coach Teufel was my 9th grade football coach in Dodge City. We ended the year undefeated, but suffered a tie with Garden City. I have many fond memories of Coach Teufel and his old Dodge pickup truck. Tom Lasater
