WILLIAM "BILL" GLEASON McMANUS
JAN 30, 1919 - OCT 19, 2014
William "Bill" Gleason McManus of Modesto passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19th. He was 95.  Bill was born in Modesto to parents Francis and Mary Agnes McManus. He gradudated from Modesto High School, class of 1937.  In 1942 he married the love of his life, Belva Jones. He worked for Modesto French Laundry and then went on to employment with the Modesto Irrigation District. He was a Substation & Transmission Superintendent and retired from MID in Feb, 1981 after 38 years.
Bill was a very active member of First Christian Church in Modesto. He was a Mason, having joined in 1946 and became a 32nd degree Mason. Bill was also a member of the Spring Creek Golf & Country Club, serving as President in 1987.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mary Agnes McManus, siblings Frank McManus, Eloise Holmdale, Kathryn George, John McManus, Margaret Boulton and his loving wife of 51 years, Belva Jones McManus.  He is survived by his sons Gary (Phyllis) McManus and Robert (Dana) McManus, grandchildren Lindsay (Kenny) Dickens, Shelby (Bjorn) Anderson, Jonathan McManus and Katie McManus, 5 great granddaughters and his special friend Fran McMath.
Private Funeral Services were held. The family requests any Memorial Contributions be made in Bill's honor to: Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
