Willie Ann Flenory

Willie Ann Flenory was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She left this world to return home to her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2021 at the age of 87.

Willie Ann was the only child of Jim Finley Smith and Carmelia Johnson, and was born on December 23, 1933 in Hope, Arkansas. She married Samuel Flenory on September 24, 1954 and moved to Long Beach, CA where they started their family. In 1963 they headed to the Central Valley and established their forever home in Visalia.

Willie Ann was a fantastic cook and enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and watching her stories. She was famous for her homemade cakes and desserts, and for the ability to feed a crowd of any size, even on short notice, with warmth, joy, and hospitality. Everyone was welcome at her table and if you were a guest in her home, you were considered family.

Her most cherished possessions were her children and grandchildren. Her advise, unwavering love and constant encouragement were always available and provided selflessly. Her wisdom will be remembered and shared for generations to come. She had an amazing smile and a hug that warmed your soul. She will be dearly missed.

Willie Ann was preceded in death by parents Jim Finley Smith and Carmelia Johnson, husband Samuel F. Flenory, son Lamar Flenory (Vanessa), and daughters Katie Flenory and Myra Lynn Flenory.

She is survived by children Samuel D. Flenory, Carol Patrick (Stanley), Gregory Flenory (Stacy), Renia Hungerford, Sonia McClain (Leon), Joyce Flenory Maness (Geary), Allen Flenory, Lillie Flenory and Tanya Flenory Martin (Garian), as well as 40 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and extended family members too vast too count.
