Susan, Reggie and Read family members,
I fondly remember Winnie, the General and crew running an efficient Thursday night sailboat race for NTYC. At the time we were starting to breakout from the B fleet to the A fleet, certainly with much encouragement from Winnie. As I think back on one race in particular, we had a poor start and we were quite a bit behind Curt Spalding at the windward mark. After we rounded the mark the wind completely died out and we were left bobbing around, just north of the lighthouse. Well lo and behold the wind came in from the south, the spinnaker filled and as we approached Curt, their spinnaker filled, however we were able to continue by to win the race and a thumbs up from Winnie.
My thoughts are with you all.
Gene
