Gerald Berthold

Gerald (Jerry) L. Berthold, 76, Naperville native, passed away at his home in Braselton Ga. on April 23, following a brief illness. Jerry was born August 09, 1938 to Wilbert O and Frances Berthold. Jerry lived 75 of his 76 years in Naperville, a town he truly loved. He managed in the Naperville Little League for 34 years. He was also proud of the fact that when he earned his Eagle Scout he was the youngest at 13 to receive it. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan but his favorite team was the Naperville Redskins football team, never missing a game. Jerry is survived by Mary, his wife of 59 years, his sons Paul, Patrick (Jennifer), Perry, Preston, Phillip (Kathe) and Pierce (Tracy), 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. His sisters Carol Whitney and Mary Stevens (David) and his brother Richard (Deb) plus many nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Peter, his sister, Margaret, his brother Wilbert O., daughter-in-laws Cathy and Virginia and his granddaughter Kallie. Memorial visitation will be at Beidelman Kunsch Funeral Home & Crematory, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, IL, on May 06 from 2:00 to 6:00 with a memorial service immediately following.
