NATHANIEL "DAWGBOY" BROWN Sr.

Nathaniel Brown, Sr., "Dawgboy", was born to Ethel Mae Brown and Roy Southern on July 25, 1945, in Kershaw, South Carolina. He departed this life on February 3, 2010. On October 29, 1966 he married Rosa Evelyn Sampson and to this union was born 5 children, Tammy, Lisa, Nathaniel, Jr., Kimberly and Tonya. Nathaniel enjoyed reading the bible, playing his guitars and drinking coffee. He was predeceased by his mother, Ethel Mae Brown -Pate and his brother, Willie James (Bo Pete) Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rosa Brown, Ormond Beach; his children, Tammy Lockett (Ernest), Daytona Beach, Lisa Brown-Clark (Charles), Daytona Beach, Nathaniel Brown, Jr. (Osheanna), Memphis, TN, Kimberly Brown, Daytona Beach, Tonya Brown-Davis (Charles), Ormond Beach; seventeen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; his brother, Alfred Pate (Jennifer), and two paternal brothers and two paternal sisters, Lancaster, SC; a very special cousin, Leroy Brown, of Kershaw, SC; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Freeman and Doris Wright, of Daytona Beach; two brothers-in-law, Charlie Freeman, who was very dear to his heart and Charlie Wright, both of Daytona Beach; and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation and viewing will be today (Friday, February 19, 2010) from 5:30 pm until 8 pm in the chapel at Herbert Thompson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1 pm at Church of Jesus Apostolic Faith, Inc. Ormond Beach, Bishop Charlie Freeman, pastor, on Saturday, February 20, 2010. Reverend Gary Pelham, pastor of New Harvest Christian Church will be delivering the eulogy. Interment will be_at Oakridge Cemetery.
