He enjoyed collecting wrist watches, clocks, Lionel trains, building model war-planes, boats, short wave and tube radios. He was a stereo buff and a fan of the New York Mets. John loved photography and shared this interest with his wife.

I've always called you Pop-pop. You were always so quiet but we always knew that we could count on you for anything, you didn't need to say it. The holidays were always so special and you and Grandma made it such a treasured time for all of us. If I ever asked for help, your only question was"What do you need me to do and when?". No hesitation! You set the standard Pop-pop! Thank you, and I love you.
