BRINDISI, JAMES (VINNY) JR. James (Vinny) Brindisi, Jr., of West Haven, passed into eternal rest on July 2, 2016 at Connecticut Hospice. He leaves his husband of 45 years , Anthony J. DeFrancesco, Jr. Vinny is the son of the late James and Adene Bailey Brindisi, Sr. Brother of Christina Trasacco and the late Michael (Big Mike) Brindisi. Vinny is the proud father of James (Charlene) Brindisi 3rd and Damien (Lynette) Brindisi and grandfather of Teja, Emma, Sofia, Dradon, Marcus, Nadia, Livia and great-grandfather to Leila. Vinny was a hair stylist for over fifty-five years, beginning his career at the age of 12 on his parents’ front porch. What made Vinny happiest was talking to people, anyone, anywhere, any country. He loved cats and his sweets. Vinny and Tony shared a passion for travel and adventure. Together they visited 24 countries. Their favorite place being Block Island. They also loved driving aimlessly in the car. Vinny was overwhelmed and grateful for the support given him over the last 8 months. He would have especially liked to thank Val, Jerri, Michael, David Candido and the staff of the David Julien Salon, Charlene D’Addio, Adeline, Diane, Connecticut Hospice, Linda and for all the prayers sent his way from the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, CT. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 3-7pm at the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 11 Wooster Pl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10am in St. Francis Church, Ferry St. New Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
