I graduated from the Cincinnati Art Academy in 2000. Mike“s direction as an artist/instructor/friend is something I will never forget. Not only did he provide instruction to help a student but I was privileged to have him share his talent with by a painting he did for me to help with a project I was working on.

He was just the most amazing Art Teacher I ever had, in Cincinnati, Ohio. I loved his teaching style...I wish my daughter could have him for her College level Art Classes. Such a Huge Loss to the Arts and especially the family. My deepest Condolences to all of the Michael McGuire's family. He even brought his family to my Hayride/Haystacks party I had in Ohio, The most amazing Art Professor. His Art is REAL.
I wish I could have learned more from him way back when he was my Professor. He told me I had "Extraordinary Artistic Talents" I won 10 Best of the Month Awards during my first year there. Which was Illustrations. The 2nd year was based on Commercial Art, more rewarding and challenging. Yes I did win some Best of the Month Awards in my 2nd year too. There is a hole in my heart without him around to continue teaching others. He was so Talented!!
With Deepest Symphathies,

Mike was a senior at St. Henry's when I was a freshman. He and my cousin and I had art pieces on display at the Taft Museum, and Mike drove us and one of the nuns to Cincinnati to see the exhibition. He took his mother's car because he was afraid to trust his old car. When we left the museum and went back to where we had left the car, it was gone! Mike was beside himself because it was his Mom's car. We talked to a policeman and learned that the car had been towed for parking in a no parking zone. We walked for what seemed like blocks and finally ended up at the courthouse. We wondered what the officials thought when they saw three kids and a nun, but we finally got the car out of impound. None of us had money so they must have taken pity on us. I had no idea Mike had such an illustrious career, but his obituary was wonderful reading. I'm sure he will be sorely missed by all. He has always had a special place in my heart.

My Dear Rosemary, George and family,
Did you know that Mike and I shared lots of hours riding to and from St. Henry High School? Lots of laughs and some serious conversations about life and loves. Over the years, my family has held the McGuire family is such high regard. Enjoying holiday time with Mike over the last decades has been so enjoyable for my husband and myself. Mike has always been a genuinely caring person, never boastful, never holding himself above anyone, but always interested in whats happening with who ever he is talking with a true gentleman, never an unkind word. He was blessed with so many talents; shared with the world. He has always been my friend, and I will miss him dearly. Perhaps he will be painting some of those beautiful sunsets we have been enjoying these past few days blues, corals, pinks, and light grays. Enjoy your new canvas my friend!
Our love to all of you, Fred and Jill Zegarski, Tom, Steve, Dan, and Mike.

My sincerest condolences to the McGuire family. I will never forget how genuine Mike was and his soft spoken charismatic demeanor. He was a true friend to my mom and I. I remember him coming over and just talking to mom for hours. Now, they can sit and catch up without an annoying teenager bugging them. He helped my mom through a really rough time in her life and for that I'll always be grateful. I'm also honored to have some of his paintings that he had given my mom over the years and the series of children's books he illustrated I inherited from my mom that will be handed down to my daughter some day. I'll cherish the memories and his art always. Heaven truly gained an angel.
