Only knew Gerry for a few years, and it was a great pleasure. He had a dry, good sense of humor and was extremely nice, low key, and always helpful. He would quiz me about Fair Lawn streets, and usually stumped me(Hamlin Court). Nothing ever seemed to bother him regardless of the situation. No one was surprised when he stopped that day to put out the fire. That was Gerry. The unfortunate thing is that I only knew him for a short time, but at least I got to know him, and that was to my benefit. Rest in peace, Gerry, my friend.
