Daniel Zungoli Obituary

DANIEL R. ZUNGOLI

Daniel R. Zungoli, 89, of Bloomfield, formerly of Montclair, died on Monday, April 16, in the N.J. Veterans Hospital in Paramus.

A funeral Mass will be held today, Thursday, April 19, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 94 Pine St., Montclair, with interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Born and raised in Montclair and moving to Bloomfield many years ago, Mr. Zungoli was a World War II and Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a gunner on the USS Caperton. He was a UPS driver for 32 years and was recognized for his safe driving record and driving training. He was a golfer, winning a UPS golf tournament, and also enjoyed deep-sea fishing off the Jersey shore.

Mr. Zungoli was predeceased in 2006 by his wife of 55 years, Rose (née Aromando); his parents, Nicolo and Incoronata (née Miscia) Zungoli; and his brothers, Tony, Sal and Angelo Zungoli. He is survived by his children, Nick Zungoli and his partner Casey Bryant, Steve Zungoli and his wife Diane, Sandra Tansey and her husband Tim of Verona, and Danny Zungoli and his wife Michele of Wayne; his sisters, Josephine Persercia and Sadie Lavery; and seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Amanda, Stefan, Megan, Briana, Anthony, and Michael.
