Dear Lillian, My wife and I have just heard of Elmer's passing and we want you to know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. When we moved her in 1998, Elmer came across the street to welcome us with 2 bird houses that he had made. Those houses still stand in our back yard and have produced so much life over the years. We are so much better for having known Elmer. Sincerely, Jim and Chriss Foster

"No person is ever honored for what he received. HONOR is the reward for what he gave." - Author unknown

The memories and condolences written in this guest book honor Elmer by what he gave to his family and those he met along life's journey. First and foremost he gave his love, he also was generous with his talents, and gave freely of his gift of warmth and genuine friendship. All these qualities and many more made it so easy to love Elmer.

I am thankful to God for the blessing of memories through time spent with this wonderful man over the years.

This is not the end, but the beginning. Until we meet again in heaven.

With Love,

Jean Rosenbluth

Mr. Jenkins was such a great man-always so kind and welcoming "ya'll come see us when you can". I will always remember him listening to his old records in the basement and doing puzzles with "mama" (mrs. jenkins). The puzzles he framed for us will always be a wonderful treasure and memory we have of him-"now you gotta slap a couple of coats of that polyeurothane on it." Rachel and Katelyn are so blessed to have had him in their lives and I know that they will hold their memories of their papaw in their hearts forever. We pray that God comfort you in this painful time of sorrow. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Love and prayers.

Lillian:

Thanks for the visit with my father last November. He was a good Marine and soldier and served his country well during WWII. I am sorry he was not able to meet his grandson Daniel P. Jenkins. The original Jenkins clan lived at Lost River, WV, Allmond Jenkins is buried there. This is a photo of my mother and father probably from 1946 or so. Sorry for your loss.
