JANICE GRUDZINSKI Obituary

JANICE GRUDZINSKI (NEE BALKA) HOBART, IN Janice Grudzinski (nee Balka), age 63 of Hobart, IN, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at St. Margaret Mercy in Dyer, IN. She was born on May 16, 1949 to the late Frank and Bernice Balka in East Chicago, IN. Janice was a loving homemaker and caregiver, who devoted her life to caring for her loved ones. She enjoyed bowling and playing Bunco with her favorite Bunco ladies. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Stanley Grudzinski of Hobart; son, Jim (Aimee) Grudzinski of Rossville; daughter, Pam (Earl) Freimuth of Hobart; brother, Dan (Barbara) Balka of Celestine; sister, Judy Challman of Highland; grandchildren: AJ, Ian and Ella; numerous nephews and nieces; and other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Assumption BVM Church, 3530 Illinois Street, Hobart, IN. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. 219-942-2109 or online at reesfuneralhomes.com.

So sorry to hear about Janice. Have not seen her in a while but when I did she was always so nice. Her mom was my Godmother and her dad was my dad's best friend. When I was younger we would go to visit them. Everyone was always so nice. God bless Janice, she is happy in heaven now with her parents and she will watch over all of us. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Im assuming since you left us its because you wanted to get things in order for another family party. Except its a little far, but im sure with google maps we will all find our way.Stan and kids your wife and mom was an awesome lady, loved by all and will be missed dearly. I light this candle in honor of you Jan. It is like you, the light and the warmth you had brought to so many. God keep you in his loving care.Until we meet again. I'm so glad I got to see Janice whenever I came up to Ind. and speak to her on the phone often.
We had a good time at the Pierogi Fest and just sitting around in the back yard for several hours. Those were such special times that I won't ever forget.
I've known Jan since elementary school and I'm glad we stayed friends all these years.
Janice always had a smile on her face when she talked about her grandchildren. She loved them so much.
She will be greatly missed. My sincerest sympathy to her entire family.
