FREIREICH, Ronald Ronald Freireich, 71, of Atlanta, died October 17, 2014 at Emory University Hospital. Born in Bronx, NY, to Rose and Leslie Freireich, both of blessed memory, he is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Bonnie; daughter, Jennifer Shapiro; son, Garrett; grandchildren: Mackenzie, Kendall, and Daniel Shapiro, and Dylan and Reese Freireich; brother, Andy; and sister-in-law, Tina Potter. Ronald was a dedicated cardiologist, father, and papa. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. An online guestbook is available at www.edressler.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Israel Defense Forces, IDF, at www.idf.il/english/. Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM TODAY, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, with Rabbi Neil Sandler officiating. Bonnie, I worked with Dr. Freireich at the hospital. He was an excellent physician whom worked with the nurses on all issues, rhythms etc. We learned a lot from this dedicated MD. He was also my physician for over 20 years. I trusted him completely. I am saddened by you and your families loss! I still haven't chose a new cardiologist and I don't know how I can! He LOVED his family truly an honorable MAN! Thank You, Linda Stubbs!!!

Bonnie, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Ronald. My sincere condolences to you and the family. I never knew Ron personally but we corresponded quite often via email and in that aspect I did know him and finding out about this has me saddened. We both shared a love for music from his teen years and he was one of my most devoted listeners. Today I called in to Emory for a question about my medications. When i asked to speak to Dr. Freirich I was told of his passing. Unbelief set in immendiately and a huge sense of loss and saddness followed. He was indeed a wonderful man, not alone a great doctor. I will never forget him! kelvin Thompson

I am so saddened at the passing of one of the most important people in my life and the life of my father. Dr. Freireich helped my dad live a full life until his passing in 2001. He had been my doctor as well since the early 1980's. I will miss his kindness, his compassion along with his exemplary skills as a physician. My thoughts are with his family and I will dearly miss him.

Sandy and I were 2 of his loyal patients. What a wonderful man and doctor.
