83, died peacefully at home January 7, 2017 after a long struggle with dementia. Husband of Ellen Schrecker, father of Daniel, Todd, Eva Braiman, and Rebecca, stepfather of Michael and Daniel Schrecker, beloved Gramps to Sha'an, Mariska Braiman, Pazit and Ila Schrecker, April Goldrajch-Schrecker. He produced similar works on later struggles in Indochina, Central America, and the Middle East. Besides his political and intellectual work, Marv was a gifted amateur artist and serious athlete. I will always remember Marvin as a good and helpful friend who I met through Historians against the War. He was such a good historian and so committed to social justice and left-wing politics. Plus he was a lot of fun to be around.
