In his later years, Mr. Conlin was an avid walker until shortly before his death. His daily walks around Chatham and the Hickory Tree Mall made him a local fixture and he enjoyed striking up conversations with merchants, managers, shoppers and townspeople. He was the father of the late Kitty Lobo, and is survived by his daughters, Patricia Conlin Leitz of New Providence and Bay Head, NJ, and Molly Tucker and her husband Lin of Charlotte, NC, and his grandchildren, Charlie, Barbara and Martha, and his brother James A. I am very saddened to hear of Peter Conlins passing. I was a childhood friend of Kitty Conlin, I miss her to this day and am very sorry for the loss of her Father. I have beautiful and happy memories of him as my parents adored he and his wife Sheila Conlin. May he rest in peace and know that I was happy in his presence and smiling and I always sensed his love of life and people and very positive human spirit.

Pete was a special friend and he will be greatly missed by me and my family. May he rest in peace now and walk freely without the need for his cane.

Uncle Peter was one of my biggest fans. He came to my lacrosse games from when I was in middle school all the way through high school and college. Looking back, that was a lot of driving for him and my grandparents to do. I am so glad they could come and support me because I will always remember seeing them after the game. On Holidays, he was the one and only person to ask how my marks were in school, how athletics were coming along, as well as what my plans were for the future. Peter was certainly an eccentric man and had his opinions at times, but he's a Conlin boy and I miss him already. Rest In Peace Peter.

With Love,
David Decker
