Michael Doyle Obituary

Michael Conan Doyle, born December 21, 1949, received last rites of the Catholic Church, from his friend Father Bob Clancy. He was a life-long resident of Northeast Ohio and a devoted fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Carl W. Doyle; long-time companions, John F. Woodruff, Steven L. Dennison and W. Gary Dukes; best friends, Valerie Hill, Lee Chapin David Cook and Florance (Flo) Wallace; stepfather, Joe Kuhn; and bestest buddy, Sandy Melton.

Michael leaves his beloved mother, Betty J. Doyle, best-friend, Jeffrey Melton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail (Lee) Snyder and Cathy (David) Cavanaugh; nephews, nieces and a host of family members.

Michael was honored to have the love of life-long friends Diane (Forlines) Early, John Kettle Silvercloud and Ricky McCall. He also dearly loved Steven Harger, David Canfield, Craig Mayers, Gary Reams, Michael Madugno, Tim James, James Jones and Brett Medcaff from Tear-Ez Lounge.

Michael was very successful managing nightclubs including Chief's Lounge, The Stagecoach Inn, The Gold Coast and Tear-Ez, Inc. Others constantly tried to get him to design clubs for them; he rarely did, but he was proud to have designed the Queen of Hearts for Bobby Foyt in Warren, Boardwalk NiteClub for Jeffrey Melton in Canton and Interbelt NiteClub for Vernon Baker in Akron.

Some of Michae's recognitions include: Akron, 1994, Akron/Canton Gay Hall-Of-Fame ``Community Achievement'. Cleveland, 1995, N.E. Ohio ACE Award ``Lifetime Achievement-Gallery of Stars'. The role Michael was most proud of, though was founding and serving as President of the David B. Cook Memorial Fund for the past 15 years, which was a Major fund-raiser for Community AIDS Network (C.A.N)

Michael appreciated all the loving care he received from everyone at Akron General Medical Center through the years, and his loving nursing assistant, Mary Powle. Along with Dr. Lawrence Bouchard and Colleen, Dr. Ralph White and Trish, Dr. Barry Lamkin, and staff, Dr. Loretta Isada and staff all of AGMC, heart surgeon Dr. Wael Jaber and his staff at the Cleveland Clinic.

Finally, Michael gave special thanks to Rod Kalbus, Sarah and Elizabeth at Highland Square Pharmacy or as he called it, ``His home away from home.'
