Marking the anniversary of his passing, I wish to convey condolences to the family of Dr. Gerald Firth. Time flies, yet despite the fact that it is already the anniversary, I see Gerry clearly in my mind's eye, I hear his chuckle and the manner in which he always greeted me, and I can say with absolute certainty that he will always have a significant place in my heart and memory. In loving memory of Gerry who was so central in my adult life and career.

I will never forget Jerry and I shall always be grateful to him for his mentoring and wise advice that set me on a professional path leading to where I am today. He not only inspired me, he also encouraged me and spurred me into action at a very crucial point in my life. I still see his smile.

I was so sorry to read of Dr. Gerald Firth's Firth's death. I was teaching in what is now the Division of Academic Enhancement when he served as its Interim Director. It was amazing to learn that he was from near my hometown in upstate New York and had gone to the State University of New York at Albany for his undergraduate degree as I had. Later after we both retired I would see him and his wife at OLLI events. He was a great person. Much sympathy to his family. Patricia McAlexander

I worked with Dr. Gerald Firth at UGA. I also had his wife, Dr. Doris Firth, for a teacher at Athens Tech. I will miss Dr Gerald Firth. He was always happy and so sweet when I saw him. Please know that the whole Firth family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Jerry hired me and he and Doris welcomed me and my family to Athens in 1979.
He was my department head and supported me for those many years at UGA. I will always be grateful for all that he did for me.
My deepest sympathy to Doris and to the entire Firth family. He was so very proud of each and everyone of you.
