David McConkey

Richmond - David Michael McConkey 78, of Richmond, Indiana passed away on December 1, 2020. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on November 19, 1942 to Willard and Eileen McConkey.

David graduated from New Paris, Ohio High School, where they called him "Mike". He served in the Marine Corps 3rd division in Vietnam and Bay of Pigs. He was a very gifted artist and sculptor. He was a very kind man who never knew a stranger and was always ready to lend a hand to others. He loved all animals. We love and will miss you David.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years Dawn McConkey; sister Judi (Charles) Hughes of Greenfield; aunt Shelby Smith of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Terri Richardson of Bluffton, Indiana; stepson Michael Hall; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

David went to heaven to be with his father Willard and mother Eileen, his sister Saundra Pepper, step daughter Amanda Sue Hall, nephew Todd Pepper and other aunts and uncles.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
