Family-Placed Funeral Notice

JOHN PAGLIARULO 92 of Greenacres, FL, formally of Copiague, NY, passed away May 25, 2006. He was born in Triggiano, Italy, son of Michael Archangelo Pagliarulo and Maria Pateno. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1929 with his father and two brothers, Philip and Anthony. He was married for 57 years to Rose Orlando (deceased). His goal in life was to become an American citizen and follow in his fathers' footsteps as a builder. He was instrumental building several fire departments and many churches, including Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Copiague, where he was a member in the Holy Name Society. His education never went beyond the 4th grade, but he was very succesful as a building contractor and realty manager and owner, and made every effort to learn the American customs. He gave 60 years of service with the Copiague Fire Department as a Captain. John leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Julia, eight devoted children, Angelo (deceased), John Jr., Philip, Mario, Eugene and Ronald as sons, and daughters, Maria Elena Licata, Patricia Ferrara; sisters, Constance Cava, Emma Vurro; 54 grand children, 71 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith, Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3401 Kirk Rd., Lake Worth, FL. Family will receive friends Saturday, May 27, 6 -8 PM. Chapel services will commence on Sunday, May 27 at 7PM. Final viewing will begin at Dorsey chapel at 9AM May 30 and internment at Queen of Heaven cemetery in N. Lauderdale, FL. Those planning an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider contributions in memory of John Paglialuro to Vitas health care, at 1901 S.
