ELLIOTT YAMPELL Obituary

YAMPELL
ELLIOTT, of Haddonfield, NJ on January 10, 2014. Beloved father of Cat Yampell and Sam (Rachael) Yampell. Brother of Robert Yampell (Bernice). Adoring grandfather of Fiona Yampell. Uncle of Richard Yampell, Sandra Yampell, and Sharon (Roie), great uncle of Daniel Enden. Elliott was born in Philadelphia on May 22,1933 to Sam and Freda Yampell. A proud Haddonfield native, Elliott graduated from Princeton University and received his law degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Elliott always said he was an attorney by profession but a jeweler by birth. He returned to Haddonfield to share a dual role working both as an attorney as well as assisting Freda in their family jewelry store. Elliott's work and efforts ensured Sam S. Yampell Jewelers remained a Haddon-field landmark for over 83 years until its closing in 2011.
Elliott felt blessed to have known and shared in so many people's special and happy occasions through the relationships he made and developed working behind the counter of the jewelry store. Elliott had a love of people, especially children, and was someone who always had a smile or made time to stop and to listen to what someone had to say. He is best remembered by his smile, kind hearted nature and his generosity. He will be missed. Services and Interment where held.
