Adam Day Obituary

Adam C. Day
Virginia Beach - Adam C. Day, 40, passed away on June 23, 2013 of a massive heart attack. He was most proud of his BS degree from ODU and his certifications in 4 states as a Professional Geologist. During his business career, he was employed by Shaw Enterprises, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Bureau of Land Managements. Adam had a deep love for music and art and enjoyed hanging with his sister and her husband performing with their popular Va. Beach band. He was a devoted friend to many but especially Jason, who provided support over many years.
Adam was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Robert E. Day, maternal grandfather and grandmother, Robert H. Smith, Jr. and Helen H. Smith, and aunt, Patricia Smith.
Adam is survived by his father and mother, Peter and Kathleen Day; sister, Amy D. Lord and husband Rob; favorite niece, Coralyn Powell; grandmother, Gay S. Day; aunts, Vicki D. Magee and Mary S. Pritchett and husband Scott; uncle, Robert H. Smith III; and many cousins and friends.
Our family is a Christian family and while we do not understand why things happen as they do, we believe that God is in control and that Adam has finally found the healing and peace that he searched for so long.
A memorial service and reception celebrating Adam's life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, June 28, at The Jewish Mother, 600 Nevan Rd, Va Bch, VA 23451 with Rev. Kevin Magee officiating. In lieu of flowers, Adam would prefer you send your contributions to a charity of your choice. Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the cremation. "If you get confused, listen to the music play."
