Doris Haas Obituary

Doris Haas
TREMONT - Doris K. Haas, 71, of Tremont, formerly of El Paso, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born January 2, 1945, in Peoria to John and Mary Murphy Henderson. On August 24, 1968, she married Joseph B. Haas of El Paso; he survives.
Also surviving are five children, Kevin (Shelley) Haas of Springfield, Kathleen (Kevin) Messmann of Ft. Wayne, IN, Tom (Lisa) Haas of Tremont, Ryan Haas and girlfriend, (Sarah) of Bloomington, and Colleen (Kipp) McDonald of Saint Joseph; ten grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Rein, Ruth (Larry) Hedrick, Fern Lovins; two brothers, Bob (Donna) Henderson and Tom Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Art, James and Ronald; and one sister, Marjorie.
Doris was a devoted wife and mother dedicating much of her life to helping raise their children and helping with the decisions in the home and on the farm. She assisted the Catholic Church for years in El Paso in housekeeping, bookkeeping, or whatever was needed. She was devoted to her God through her life as a young woman and through her service to her family and church. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, and looked forward to another grandchild on the way. Even through her illnesses, she always took time to love the grandkids, no matter the circumstance. A hug and kiss were always welcomed and wanted. She was devoted to Joe, her husband of 47 years, who remained by her side well after she took her last breath.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton. Msgr. Gerald Ward will officiate. A visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at Davis Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont on Sunday. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Tremont.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, any memorials may be made to the family to be given to a charity of the family's choosing.

You are still missed. And loved.

Doris and Joe were the first people we met when we moved to El Paso and joined St. Mary's church. We were in a scripture class together.
Doris helped us out in many ways over the years. The kids and I loved the Halloween wiener roasts at her house.
Doris was always willing to give anyone the shirt off her back.
We will miss her.
