ELIZABETH FORNEAR Obituary
Of Pittsburgh, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Robert L. Fornear; loving mother of Mary Beth Kavanagh, Patricia Shaffer, Mark Fornear, Joseph Fornear, John Fornear, James Fornear, Therese Fornear, and the late Michael Fornear; caring mother-in-law of Kathleen Fornear, Beth Hayes, Michael Shaffer, Jane Fornear, Terri Fornear, Joanne Fornear, and Brian Bach; treasured grandmother of 15; proud great-grandmother of three; sister of James Hayden, Jr., Maryellen Gannon, Margaret Hayden, Thomas Hayden, and the late Kathleen Chambers; daughter of the late James and Catherine Hayden, Sr., and by marriage, the late Kathleen Hayden. Mrs. Fornear retired from Upper St. Clair Ft. Couch Middle School as a teacher. After her retirement, she still enjoyed tutoring part time. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and Family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray 724-941-3211 on Friday 2-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday 1 p.m. in St. Thomas More Parish, 126 Ft. Couch Rd., 15241. Interment to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shepherd's Heart Veteran's Home, 13 Pride St., Pgh., 15219, Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council, 411 Seventh Ave., Suite 550, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or St. Thomas More Parish. Dear family,
I was saddenned to hear about Betty. I had the pleasure of being her coordinator when she volunteered for Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. We had many great conversations about her student and his successes over the years. She was truly a lovely woman, and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to know her.

Mrs. Fornear was my teacher in middle school. Best teacher in my lifetime! She was compassionate, caring and "stern" when she needed to be...I have the best memories of her as my teacher. She had such a kind heart and I know Heaven is welcoming her with wide open arms. My prayers and condolences to her family. Know that she was loved by many.

So sorry for your loss miss Betty was an amazing lady she helped me learn a lot of things. She was funny and sweet and loved her family a lot. I enjoyed taking care of her she will be missed
