GUST L.
Of McLean, VA, died on December 1, 2005 after complications with a stroke and a prolonged sickness. Gust is survived by his wife Claudette; his son Gregory; daughter-in-law Heather and granddaughters, Alexandra (10) and Katherine (8). He is predeceased by a granddaughter Christina (17 months). Also survived by extended family as well as many dear friends. Gust was born in Aliquippa, PA, attended Aliquippa High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He retired from the Central Intelligence Agency after 27 years of service with tours in Greece and extensive overseas travel. One of his major accomplishments was the oversight of the covert Afghan War in the mid 1980's. Visitation will be at the EVERLY FUNERAL HOME, Falls Church, VA (703) 532-5161 on December 5, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with service at St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church on December 6, 2005 at 12:00 pm followed by a private burial.

Even though we never met, I felt "related" since we're both from Aliquippa - my father [Pete Costanza] told me stories of drinking times in Aliquippa together. His book was a fascinating read, it was exciting to know that he was involved in events that changed history and that Aliquippa was always in the root of his heart. May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in this sad time.
