Vincent Crescenzo Obituary

Stony Point, NY

Vincent "Jim" Crescenzo, a 49-year resident of Stony Point, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the age of 94.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Pasquale and Immaculata (DiAmbrosio) Crescenzo. Jim is predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Marguerite (Schultz) Crescenzo, four sisters, three brothers, as well as four nephews and one niece.

Jim was a World War II Navy veteran, trained as a deep sea salvage diver, where he learned his iron-working craft, and was a member and retiree of the International Union of Operating Engineers.

He leaves behind two daughters, Peggie (Tom Flynn), and Nancy Freeman; two sons, Vincent (Lori) of Middletown, NY, and James (Vicki) of Boardman, OH; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was a 38-year member of the Stony Point Senior Citizens Club and an avid longtime league bowler at Hi-Tor Lanes.

Friends and relatives may call at the Edward C. Finn Funeral Home, East Main St., Stony Point, NY, on Tuesday, December 16, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17, at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, East Main St., Stony Point, NY. Interment will follow at the Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery, Brick Church Rd., Monsey, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Meals On Wheels of Rockland Co., 121 W. Nyack Rd., Nanuet, NY 10954 or United Hospice of Rockland, 1 Stokum La., New City, NY 10956.
