SCHNEIDER, Arthur David Arthur peacefully slipped away in the arms of his loving wife into the arms of Jesus on February 2nd at the age of 73 years. He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Evelyn (nee Breitkreuz) sons Wes (Alice), Wayne, daughter Wendy (Greg Barry), grandchildren Byron, Natalie and Geoffrey Schneider, Luke, Kenton and Dayton Barry, and sister Rose (Bill) Saunders. Art felt special love and support from his extended family the Breitkreuzs': Elmer (Ellen), Ruth (Fred), Wally (Sharon), Ben (Sarah), Cliff (Shirley), Milton (Wendy), Gladys (Laurie), and Beatrice (Ernie). Art will also be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents David and Emma Schneider. Art founded Rainbow Transport in 1974, building a thriving trucking company operating for 33 years. He was well known and respected throughout the trucking industry. Art grew up in Onoway, Alberta where he met, fell in love with and married his childhood sweetheart. Art and Evelyn moved to Edmonton in 1954. As a strong athlete Art soon became active in church league hockey and baseball. He was also known as a passionate fan of his children and grandchildren's sports activities. Another of Art's passions was gospel music, travelling often to hear his favorite quartets. He reached out to people wherever he went because of his warm, kind and accepting nature. His family will remember him for his great love, generosity and affectionate spirit. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7th at Serenity Funeral Service, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue NW, Edmonton from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration Service will be held Monday, February 8th at Central Baptist Church, 9419 - 95th Street, Edmonton at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at the Onoway Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Arthur's memory to Chain of Love Ministries, 1 So. 210 Summit Avenue Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, Suite 1010, Royal Bank Building, 10117 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton T5J 1W8. To the Schneider Family:
Our family goes back a long way with your family. You were just married and moved to Edmonton when we arrived in the city in 1955. You were part of our wonderful years at Central and we will never forget you for that. It has been wonderful catching up with you from time to time even though distance now separates us. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of grieving.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Art's passing. Although we have not seen you for years there is a special place in my heart for you. My most vivid memories of Uncle Art are of him squeezing my face.....He had a great smile, laugh and a true love for life, friends (of which my parents were blessed to be) and his family. Dear Evelyn and Family,
We are so very sorry to hear of Art's passing. I remember as a child sitting around the table at my mom and dad's and just loving Art's laughter and exhuberance of life. I also remember thinking what a wonderful couple you were and how evident your love for each other was. May God wrap His loving arms around you all and fill you with peace and loving memories. God bless you.
