Gladis Axler

OBITUARY GLADIS AXLER (NEE FELDMAN) 1928 - 2011 Canadian Artist Peacefully in her sleep, her loving family by her side, early Sunday morning, February 13, 2011. Gladis studied with Anne Savage and at Ecole des Beaux Arts from the age of twelve, where she developed her talent as an artist. Her lifelong admiration of horses fueled her medium. The talent she possessed is an inspiration to us all. Recently honored by the Heart & Stroke Foundation on their 50th anniversary, she founded its precursor, the Quebec Heart Foundation. Her life is a testament to her devotion to her work and family. Daughter of the late Michael and the late Rose Feldman. Devoted wife of the late Joshua Axler. Precious mother of Sharron Feifer and beloved mother-in-law of the late Mark A. Feifer. Cherished grandmother of Kara and Adam Ginsburg, Jordanna and John Issenman, Alexandra and Les Wexelman, John Robert Feifer, and great-grandmother of Michaela and Chloe Wexelman; Lucca, Leo and Levi Ginsburg; Ari Issenman. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Sonny and Rhonda Feldman, Muriel and the late Sidney Chechik, and sister-in-law of Sylvia and the late Hy Axler, the late Rosalind and the late Leo Briskin, and the late Cicely Axler. Sadly mourned by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service took place from Paperman & Sons, on Tuesday, February 15.
