Kathe and I were always fond of Tim with his enthusiasm and passion for life.
His passing will leave a great void to fill for so many among family, friends, and organizations.
We will miss him.

My heart and condolences go out to Tim's family, I am so deeply saddened to have learned of his untimely passing. My memories of Tim, Greg Clark, Paul Woods, and myself completing the 'Death Ride' are special. Besides his great accomplishments to water science and his community, Tim was a man born of demonstrated ability with an open heart to "Everyone" he met! I think about you often Tim and will Never forget your generosity, unending friendship and encouragement. SG

I met Tim while working for the USGS. He had a true passion for cycling and the outdoors. I remember camping with Tim years ago on a field trip and that we had a good time. I was sad to hear of his passing and wish to extend my condolences to his family.

I met Tim in the late 1970's. I always considered him one of my oldest and dearest friends. I have wonderful memories of get-togethers, birthday parties, barbecues, play dates and pizza nights with our then young daughters.
Tim made friends easily. He always had a smile, a kind word and was a friend for life.
Over the years our children grew up and we all experienced many of life's changes. Our visits became less often, but Tim always kept in touch. I looked forward to his Christmas cards, family photos and cheerful newsletters to keep me posted on family events.
Tim had many interests and passions in his life, but most of all was the love for his family.
Hank, Lisa, Sara, Christopher and extended family, I send my love and support. Tim instilled in all of you his love for camping, the environment, bicycling, community service, USC pride and especially family.
Tim left us way too soon. He had so much more to contribute to life. I know all of you will carry on his legacy.
I. like all of Tim's friends, will miss him greatly.

Tim was a dedicated science communications colleague, and I will be always grateful for his support and encouragement, but most of all, for his friendship. He truly gave of himself to others.
