Mary Pagni Obituary

On December 8, 2010 Mary passed away peacefully with her loving family and wonderful caregivers by her side at The Arbors in Sparks. Mary was born in Floriston, California and moved to Verdi, Nevada when she was 8 months old.
Upon graduating from Reno High School, Mary married William (Boss) Pagni on June 8, 1941, and together they moved to Carson City so they could ranch in Dayton, Nevada.
In 1944, Boss and Mary moved to Pleasant Valley, Nevada so Bill could help his father and brothers farm the Pagni Ranch.
In the early ‘50s Mary started a career as a floral designer with Cannons and then with Orchid Florist as their main designer. In 1958 she ran Orchid Florist on "B" Street in Sparks. In the early ‘60s Mary started working for Western Florist where her specialty was weddings. She retired from Western Florist in 1981, so her and Boss could enjoy their "Golden Years" together. During her employment as a floral designer, Mary also worked as a waitress and hostess at the family run Italian restaurant known as the "Club Jubilee" until the Pagni Ranch and Club Jubilee were sold in 1982.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Bill (Boss), mother Leontina Mattucci, father Nello Colombini, stepfather Adam Mattucci, brother Fred Colombini, and sister Eva McAlpin.
Mary was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by daughters Darleen Galleron (Dave), Diane Bugica (Gary) and Donna Becker (Gary); grandchildren David Galleron, Dennis Galleron, Tony Bugica, Dino Bugica and Cristin Becker Olson; great-grandchildren Meghan Galleron Beckman, Christopher Galleron, Madison Galleron, Austin Galleron, Morgan Bugica, Mateo Bugica, Valentino Bugica, Dalia Bugica and Loucious Olson and brother Angelo Mattucci.
A Mass and celebration of Mary's life will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Community 5650 Vista Blvd, Sparks, Nevada.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made "In memory of Mary Pagni" to The Alzheimer's Association-Northern Nevada, 1301 Cordone Ave., Reno, NV 89502. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Funeral Home of Reno.
