Steven Satterwhite Obituary
SALISBURY - Mr. Steven "Steve" Reid Satterwhite, 53, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Oct. 2, 1957, in El Paso, Texas, to Carolyn Goodnight and Thomas Hilliard Satterwhite of Salisbury, he was a 1979 graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked at Hoechst-Celanese, Quantum Performance Films, and Paragon Engineering. For the past 12 years he was owner and operator of his own business, Robin's Fabrication. The last year he dedicated his time to farming.
Mr. Satterwhite was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, where he was in the Salem Spirit Praise Band. He was a substitute teacher at West Rowan High School.
Mr. Satterwhite is survived by his wife, Robin Gentry Satterwhite, whom he married on June 3, 1989; two daughters, Elizabeth and Emily Satterwhite, both of the home; two brothers, Thomas H. Satterwhite, Jr. of Kannapolis and Michael L. Satterwhite of Camden, S.C.; and a sister, Anne Satterwhite Garrison of Charleston, S.C. He was a mentor to his seven nephews and one niece.
Steve was a talented guitarist who composed, performed, taught and built his own guitars.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday (Nov. 19) at Summersett Funeral Home.
Service: A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 20) at Salem Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Donald M. Phillips and Rev. Doug Hefner, ministers of Salem Lutheran Church.
Memorials: May be made to Salem Lutheran Church, General Fund, 5080 Sherrills Ford Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
Steve loved Jesus, family and music.

Robin, Elizabeth and Emily: If I could be with you tomorrow I would. I received the news regarding funeral arrangements too late to travel, but I wanted to send my love, my condolences and let you know that you don't grieve in isolation, as you know from all the support you are no doubt receiving from everyone that loved Steve. I'm always shocked to hear of untimely deaths like Steve, but I truely believe that these situations are never random. God has a plan and He is always in control. I pray that God will provide comfort to the Satterwhite family and to give you peace for the loss of your husband, father and family member. I lost a special friend today, Steve Satterwhite. He was one of the most talented Engineers I know. I was able to witness his many great achievements. I’m proud to be his friend. God has truly gained a great talent in heaven today. I’m sure Steve is building bridges for the almighty.I am a better man for knowing him.RIP buddy!

Robin ,Elizabeth,Emily I am so sorry for your loss.I will always remember Steve in my heart and memories and and everytime i plug in my Guitar. I feel priviledged to have had Steve as a Close and Dear friend and as a fellow Musician,He was One of The Best Guitarist I Ever had the Pleasure of Playing With .I will always cherish the the laugh's we had and the Music that we played and the conversations out in the shop .He Was The Best.
