Andrew Izzo Obituary
Born Feb. 21, 1995, in Niskayuna, he was the beloved son of John and Kathy Izzo.
Andy is survived by his parents; his sister, Kaleigh; his twin brother, Austin; his brother, Cody; his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Izzo of Rochester; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Janice Tranka.
Andy was a senior at Galway High School.
He was an accomplished athlete and the captain of the soccer and basketball teams. He also ran track.
Andy was recently selected by his coaches and educators to receive a Leadership Award, which was an honor given to two senior athletes.
He loved birds and enjoyed horses and long-horn cattle, as he worked at the Shadow Rock Farm and South Family Farms.
Andy was quick to smile and offer hugs to family and friends. He will be remembered for his compassion, kind heart and generosity of spirit.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Christ Episcopal Church, 15 W. High St., Ballston Spa.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Armer Funeral Home Inc., 39 E. High St., Ballston Spa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 15 W. High St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020; or to the charity of one's choice.

For one of Kyle's last Slalom races of his high school experience, today he placed a picture of Andrew on his skis, protected under clear plastic to remember how much he loved him, how much he misses him and as a message to those who ride the lift with him, how precious life is, and how precious Andrew was. Kyle may have left Galway School early on, but he has never forgotten what great friends they were when he was there. He, like us will never forget his sweet spirit, pure honesty, big smile, and acceptance of everyone. So, Andrew, as Kyle races today, we would like you to grab a pair of skis from Heaven, and race down that mountain with him. He will feel you there rooting him on. We love you.... The Dunleavys.

Andrew, school just isn't the same without you. Then seeing you tonight was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. All I wanted to do was hug you and bring you back. Ill never forget your smile, and that incredibly deep voice you had. Ill never forget how you always came into Kirvin's class when you were supposed to be in Mal's last period last year. Andrew will always be missed by everyone. Having Photography with him in the Distince Learning Lab was a memory I will never forget. He had such a great impact on our lives here in Warrensburg Central School. The memories and the friendship's that we made with him will last a lifetime. My thoughts are with Izzo family. I had the pleasure of meeting Andrew at our family Christmas party when Amy brought him to meet our entire family. Right away I liked him. He spoke to each of the family members and didn't seem nervous at all. He had the biggest smile on his face all night. I joked with him about getting my cousin home safe and talked about his plans for the future. As a mother I cannot imagine the pain of loosing a child but I feel the pain of loosing a family member since Andrews passing.
