Mrs Sapienza,
My name is Mary Beth Merrell and your daughter, Brenda, is my best friend!! I was also Michelle's choir teacher in high school when they moved to Elizabeth City. I would like to offer my condolences on the loss of your husband. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief in your life. I'm sure you know what a wonderful daughter you have and she has gone out of her way to prove it to me over and over. Until recently I lived in Elizabeth City. Due to the unexpected death of my husband in August I have moved three hours away and I miss Brenda so so much!!! I'm not sure what I would have done without her when all of this happened in my life. She was my rock. Brenda and I are only 4 months short of being 10 years apart-I am the oldest and I have even been accused of being her mother, but I will tell you no matter what our relationship is, mother, sister, or absolute best friend, thank you for giving her life so she could be in mine!!
May God be with you during the coming days and may "God bless you and keep you and give you peace".

Brenda's Loving Friend,
Mary Beth Merrell

Want to extend my sincere condolences during your time of loss. Mr. John sounds like the true firefighter, firefighter. Giving of himself to both FDNY and then to your department. He is the true meaning of an Our Town Hero. I am proud to say I served in both career and volunteer departments. Sounds like HE left a great Legacy. Your area should be very proud of John. GOD Bless in your time of loss to you and his family and town. Knowing He is watching over you all. Sincerely, Phil Jaskiewicz, Captain/EMT/Retired Erie PA City Fire Department.

Barbara and I are saddened by the loss of such a great man. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He was what I would term "a gentle giant." He gave so much to the community and his friends. May he rest in the peaceful knowledge that he was appreciated and loved by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
