Patty Geraghty was the most wonderful 1st grade teacher and human being. Her smile lit up the world. Even after my daughter Brittain was no longer her student, I volunteered by doing silhouettes of each student. She loved celebrating her students. I dreamt of Patty last night, and we will plant a tree in her honor on our property here in Blaine, Wa.

Cindy and I are very grateful to the person who added a message from us about Patty's passing and forwarded the notice to us.
My mother, Louise was Harriet's twin sister.
The first thought that comes to mind in thinking back to Patty is her wonderful smile.
Next is the exceptional start she gave to her hundreds of very fortunate first graders.
The first memory of Patty that comes to mind is her smile.

I’m so sad to learn of Patty’s passing. We taught together at St. Joseph’s. She was grade 1a and we met during my first year teaching. I had a split 1/2 classroom. I recall clearly how deeply afraid she was of rodents. When a student would bring a hamster for show and tell, she would come to my classroom and read to my students while I went to her room to handle the rodent show and tell. One winter we returned from winter break to find her closet had been infested by mice. I swear she wanted to stand on her desk! So many beautiful memories of this wonderful, loving woman. RIP my dear friend.

I remember one Halloween when I went over to go trick or treating with Anita. Patty was the nicest mom and you felt the love in that home. Whenever you saw her she always had a smile and your day was a little better after being around her. God bless the family and my prayers go out to you.

My family and I had the great pleasure of knowing your Mother via St. Joseph School, she was my daughter Emma’s first grade teacher. Our family has so many wonderful memories both in school/church and at the cabin. Best days ever, being at “sand dollar” heaven and enjoying your Dad’s clam chowder! Your Mother was truly a beloved and blessed woman. We love you Mrs. Geraghty Ted, Jane, Emma & Tori.

I first knew Patty and Pat because he was an alum counselor at CYO Camp when I was a teen. One of my happiest memories is a work party at Gallagher, when Anita, in kindergarten, taught me my favorite Halloween song. I went on to teach that song to 40 years of students! Patty and I were colleagues for a few months when I subbed for Mary G. when she had her first set of twins. I've seen Patty around the credit union and neighborhood stores, and at the Seniors' Masses and Luncheons. I loved her 80th birthday party! Patty's finest legacy is her fabulous family. You are all a great tribute to her! If I can be half the hostess at my cabin that she was at hers, my guests will be well welcomed. Love to all of you! Treasure your memories and stay close to each other! Kisses and hugs!

My deepest condolences to the Geraghty family. I was lucky enough to have her as my 1st grade Teacher at St. Joseph 39-40 yrs ago. I can’t say I remember a lot from those early years as a student but what I do remember is how very nice, friendly, supportive, and caring she was as a Teacher. She was a constant figure at the the school from when I started to when I graduated 8th grade. Very sad to hear she has passed away and may she Rest In Peace.

Thank you, Geraghty Clan, for inviting us to Patty's funeral Mass. I am sorry I could not attend in person and offer each of you my condolences personally.
I first met Patty when she was teaching my nephews in 1A. They loved their teacher and wanted everyone to meet her. Fifteen years later, when my three sons attended St. Joseph, I let Mr. Hofbauer know that I wanted them to be assigned to Miss Geraghty's 1A. I was her room parent each year, and I can happily say that I learned as much or more than her students did. She had a way about her. She could teach everyone about life, love and happiness without ever letting on that you were being offered the most important lesson of your life. I cherished your Mother and it was well known that she cherished each one of you.
I celebrate Patty for her gifts of love, laughter, faith, generosity and patience. I thank her for being my friend and teacher!
May Patty's love fill your hearts and souls with joy for a life well lived. May Patty work through all of us for Peace!
We hold you all in our love,

Over many years, as a colleague and friend, I watched her spread her boundless love, light, compassion, and faith particularly among her first-graders. She personified the noblest qualities in a human being - an incredible role model for her little ones. Condolences to all her family.

Dear family Geraghty,
Pat n' Patty were the best neighbors we ever had! Bern Herbolsheimer and I lived on the corner in the little Tudor. Their warm-hearted invitations to Geraghty House functions, made us feel a part of a great neighborhood community and an amazing family. Their tender attention to the elderly neighbor lady who lived between our two homes was a model of neighborly kindness and a continuing inspiration to me.
At the Cathedral I loved seeing Patrick and Patricia in attendance. I knew I would be getting a sweet (and always encouraging) post-Mass or post-concert greeting from them.
